授業概要

英米法において重要と考えられている論点を取り上げ、基本的文献を講読した上で参加者全員で議論することを通じ、複数の視点からの考察に耐える論理的思考の養成を目指す。
 
The main theme is the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. We shall read the fourteen essays, mainly by British authors, and discuss "race, gender and sexuality" through their viewpoints which are not the same as those of American scholars.

到達目標

Students are expected, by the end of the term, to be familiar with important equality cases and be prepared to write their Master's papers using their knowledge of equality cases.

Students shall prepare to present his comment on the essay assigned as groundwork for each class discussion.
